Summit County, Colorado - After conducting a statewide search, Summit County Interim Manager Steve Hill announced the appointment of Brian Lorch as Open Space and Trails Director for Summit County.
Lorch holds a Masters Degree in Watershed Sciences from Colorado State University and Bachelors in Business Administration from University of Michigan and has served Summit County Government as an Environmental Planner and as a Resource Specialist with the Open Space and Trails Department since 2001.
In making this appointment, Hill stated "Brian's experience with the department, proven track record and work with the Open Space Advisory Board are all qualities that uniquely position Brian to continue the County's successful efforts to protect and manage our important open spaces and trails."
When asked about his new position, Lorch said "I look forward to working with members of the community, elected officials, and multiple agencies to further the Open Space and Trails mission of protecting the character of Summit County and providing opportunities for current and future generations to enjoy this wonderful area of Colorado." Brian will immediately assume the role of Open Space and Trails Director and replace Todd Robertson who directed the Department for the last 9 years.
