Sue Boyd, Assistant County Manager Resigns
Sue Boyd, Assistant County Manager for the last 6 1/2 years tendered her resignation on Tuesday to the Board of County Commissioners. Ms. Boyd expressed her desire to become a more active partner in her medical equipment distribution business and to expand her business interests in real estate.
As Assistant County Manager, Ms. Boyd supervised and guided efforts of a number of County Departments including; Human Services, Public & Environmental Health, Open Space & Trails, Library, Ambulance, 911 Communications Center and CSU Extension Service.
Additionally, Ms. Boyd served as a liason between the County and various community groups including the Summit County Chamber, Communications Center Policy Board, Dillon Reservoir Recreation Committee, Head Start Partnership Board, the Open Space Advisory Council and the Community Care Clinic Board.
In accepting Ms. Boyd's resignation the Board voiced appreciation for her dedication and service to Summit County. Some of Ms. Boyd's more significant accomplishments as Assistant County Manager include developing the County's water augmentation program, helping guide the Golden Horseshoe Planning Project and restructuring of the County Human Services Department.
Steve Hill, Interim County Manager stated that "Over the last 6 plus years, Sue and I have worked on many projects together and each one has reinforced to me Sue's professionalism, dedication, passion and commitment to making Summit County a better place to live. Her accomplishments are varied and impressive and she should be proud of the legacy she has left and we will miss her, both as an accomplished manager and as a friend."
Sue Boyd states "I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with so many talented people on such a wide variety of important and interesting projects during my tenure with Summit County Government. It's been a great experience."
