Summit County Library Foundation
The Summit County Library foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports and enhances the quality and accessibility of the libraries of Summit County. In the Age of Information, access to information has never been more important. In Summit County, we're fortunate to have three public libraries that organize and provide easy access to a world of information in all it various forms. Whether you and your family like to pick up a book, log on to the Internet or enjoy entertainment through DVDs, our libraries can help you meet your needs.
But we need you help, too. The tax dollars used to support our libraries can't begin to meet the growing demand for library services. That's why the Summit County Library Foundation has purchased $6,000 worth of DVD's, $6,000 worth of Books-on-CD and with the help of a grant from The Summit Foundation for $12,100 and $5,770 from the Library Foundation digitized the Summit County historic newspaper collection from the 1880's to 1923 in the last 2 years. This year the Library Foundation is helping to begin a downloadable audio book collection through the Marmot consortium, so that you will be able to download audios to your computer, Blackberry or MP3 player to listen to for two weeks.
New in 2007, the Library Foundation donated $5000 to provide wireless access at each library branch.
Please help us reach the peak of success with your contribution today. In the Age of Information, it's import to keep our libraries up-to-date because... IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT BOOKS ANYMORE!
