BURN PERMITS

• Summit County issues free backyard slash burning permits, for piles less than 8' in diameter, limbs under 3"diameter
• To obtain a burn permit contact Wildfire Mitigation Officer, Patti Maguire, Tues - Friday 7:00AM - 5:30 PM, at  970.513.4237
• Patti will come and perform an inspection of the woody debris to be burned, and provide information about safety tips
• All slash burns must have a water supply (or snow on the ground), tools to work the fire, and be attended at all times
• You call Dispatch when you light it and when you extinguish the fire
• Permits may be good up to one month depending on seasonal wildfire danger
