The various meeting rooms at the Summit County Senior Center are incredible hubs of activities all year ‘round! If you have an interest beyond what you read about here, please don’t hesitate to contact the Senior Center’s office to see if it might be considered for a new activity offering.

Book Club

This friendly get-together meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month (except in May), generally in members' homes. Discussions include novels, fiction, biographies, and other non-fiction books—all chosen by the members in the December meeting for the year ahead.

The accent is on informality. Different members lead the discussion of one selected book each month in an atmosphere of relaxed hospitality created by the host/hostess for that meeting.

Please refer to the Newsletter for the book to be discussed and the host home to call to confirm your attendance. Participation is generally limited to 16 people, but sometimes fewer depending on space limitations of the meeting place.

Bridge

This year the hobby room at the Summit County Community and Senior Center has seen lots of bridge activity.

Tuesdays at 1:00pm is the time for "Party Bridge" where you can come to play with or without a partner. You will play with different friendly people.

Fridays at 12:15am is the time for Duplicate Bridge, where you keep the same partner and every pair plays the same hands. Duplicate Bridge is a more competitive game, but we are still friendly. Call Corley Friesen at
970.262.0417 for information and partners.

"Round Robin" bridge is organized by Jean Reitan: 970.262.0381. Paired participants arrange games with members of their group. They play 20 hands-a-round. Prizes for scores are awarded at a final game at the Senior Center.

During the summer months duplicate bridge is played on Monday mornings, starting at 1:00pm.Harold Gant, at 970.468.0857, organizes this challenging game.

Come and play bridge with us! If you don’t have a partner, don’t let that discourage you. We’ll try to pair you up. We want all to join in and have a good time.
