Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

WIC is a supplemental food and nutritional program designed to improve the health of women, infants and children. This service provides nutrition education and extra food as well as referrals to other health care programs. Some of the food WIC provides includes fresh milk, eggs, beans, cheese, peanut butter, cereal, tuna, carrots, infant juice and special infant formula.

Eligibility

• Pregnant women.
• Breastfeeding women until the infant's 1st birthday.
• Infants
• Children through age 5.

Must reside in Summit County, Colorado and be within income guidelines.

Income Guidelines

At or below 185% of poverty, which is similar to the reduced school lunch guidelines. Usually a family of 4 can earn up to $3,184 a month before taxes (gross monthly income) and still qualify for WIC.
