Natural Trails

Summit County Government advocates the Leave No Trace principles (www.LNT.org Leaving Summit County Government Web site), which include:

  • Plan Ahead and Prepare
  • Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
  • Dispose of Waste Properly
  • Leave What You Find
  • Minimize Campfire Impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Considerate of Other Visitors

Information on natural surface trails can be found in the “Summer Recreation Map of Summit County, Colorado” available for $10 at the Open Space and Trails Department Office, at the U.S. Forest Service Dillon Ranger District office, 680 Blue River Parkway in Silverthorne, Colorado, or through various trail guides and maps available at local shops.

Please contact Open Space & Trails Resource Specialist, Brad Eckert (970) 668-4213, for more information about the Summit County maintained natural surface trails.
