We are pleased that you are interested in working for Summit County Government. Currently we are one of Summit County's largest employers. Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions are available.

Telecommunicator 911 (RFT)

Communications

Position Duties: Like good pay and a great job?  If you like helping people, 911 wants you!   This job is challenging and rewarding. Answer phones, dispatch emergency responders by radio and operate numerous computers while getting to know members of over thirty public safety agencies.

Starting pay rate $18.72 per hour, with excellent county benefit package.

Child Protection Caseworker (RFT)

Social Services

POSITION DUTIES:  Investigative and ongoing casework services for child abuse and neglect cases, youth-in-conflict cases, and adults unable to protect their own interests.   Duties include evaluation of family functioning and risk assessments; court testimony; treatment plan formulation; computer input; periodic after hours on-call services; working collaboratively with law enforcement and other community agencies. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human behavioral sciences field.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

STARTING SALARY:  $42,434 - $43,992

Administrative Assistant (RPT)

Youth and Family Services

POSITION DUTIES: Provide administrative oversight of financial record-keeping for the Youth & Family Department:  collect, code, and scan invoices for posting into SAP for department expenses; coordinate with Finance Department to ensure timely payment of invoices; bill funder according to terms of individual grant contracts; track Department use of purchasing cards; Assist Youth & Family Program Coordinators with management of grants and grant contracts; coordinate with appropriate staff to produce periodic reports for funder; assist in preparation of grant applications, County routing forms, and periodic program and financial reports  as assigned. Assist with maintenance of the CARE website, serve as liaison to Mile High United Way for purposes of fulfilling contract obligations associated with use of their web server and 211.  Take charge of maintaining appropriate “links” with the County and other websites. CARE Council support/scheduling.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Batchelor’s degree, accounting experience and education preferred. Strong PC computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Publisher and Access and the ability to learn program-specific database entry and development; customer service and problem-solving skills required.

 

SALARY RANGE:              $ 19.15-$21.07 hour DOE

EMT-Intermediate (Per Diem)

POSITION DUTIES: Provide Emergency Medical Care and operate ambulance vehicles safely and effectively for 9-1-1 emergency response and inter-facility transports. Performs a variety of administrative and readiness tasks while not responding to emergencies.

Shifts are up to 24 hours in length. Shifts include nights, weekends and holidays. All personnel also required to attend mandatory staff meetings (monthly). Must work a minimum of 400 hours per calendar year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently certified Colorado EMT-Intermediate or National Registry EMT-Intermediate(1999 level) certification and current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate or equivalent. Candidates must obtain both Colorado and National Registry certifications within 6 months of hire. Current CPR certification at the Healthcare provider level and valid Colorado Drivers License with acceptable driving record. Acceptable Criminal history check also required.

POSITION PREFERS: 2 years experience as a EMT-Basic or Intermediate with an ambulance transport agency or clinical facility. Basic Trauma Life Support or equivalent, Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals certification and inter-facility transport experience. Basic Incident Command and Hazardous Materials Awareness. Residency within Summit County is encouraged

SALARY RANGE: Starting salary range is $16.20- $17.82 per hour based on experience.
