HOUSING
Rental Assistance
Summit County Government provides short-term subsidized rental units to all employees. Rentals may be single-room or full-units and are subject to availability.Down Payment Assistance
All first-time Summit County home buyers who meet Regular Full-time employment requirements for nine months are eligible for a Down Payment Assistance loan. The lesser of 5% of your purchase price or $10,000 is available for the purchase of a Summit County home. This program is subject to availability.Paid Time Off
Regular Full- and Part-time employees will receive paid time off accruals for holidays, vacation and sick time.RETIREMENT
CRISP
The County Retirement Income Security Program (CRISP) is Summit County’s Social Security replacement program.100% Employer Funded
Regular Full- and Part-time Summit County Government employees are not subject to Social Security deductions. The county will make a contribution based on 13.45% of your base salary, 11.4% of which will be placed in a retirement account that allows for self-direction into your choice of many investment options. You can monitor and change your account by phone or on the web. The remaining contribution of 2.05% provides life insurance, long term disability coverage, accidental death & dismemberment, and survivor income insurance.Retire at 55
Under certain situations, CRISP distributions are available at age 55 without penalty.Take a Loan
Upon reaching the minimum balance and service requirements, CRISP will loan up to half of your vested amount, paid back by automatic payroll deductions. The loan is funded by your own personal retirement account, meaning any interest paid on the loan is returned directly to your retirement savings.CCOERA
All Regular Full- and Part-time Summit County employees must participate in this retirement program after one year of employment. Employees contribute 3% of their base salary, which is matched by the county. This retirement investment is also self-directed into your choice of a wide variety of funds.457 Deferred Compensation Plans
CCOERA and ICMA provide 457 tax-deferred savings plans for all employees, enabling additional employee deferral up to IRS maximums. An NRS 457 Plan serves as the Social Security replacement for seasonal and temporary employees.INSURANCE
Cafeteria Medical Plan
Health Coverage is available through pre-tax deductions at single, 2-party and family rates. The Health Protection Basic plan combines with an annual Health Reimbursement Account to provide coverage for medical and dental benefits, prescriptions, hearing and vision, non-traditional medicine, chiropractic and mental health. Health coverage is also available for domestic partner relationships.Other Insurance
Life, dependent life, accidental death & dismemberment, short/long term disability insurance is also provided to qualifying employees.Flexible Spending
The Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) provide pre-tax deductions for medical and dependent-care services not covered by insurance.Employee Assistance Program
