MOTOR VEHICLES

Driver's Licenses:

If you are a new resident in Summit County you will need to obtain a Colorado State Driver’s License.

The Driver's License Office is located in the County Commons Building at 0037 County Road 1005 south of Frisco. Please call 970.668.5015 for more information.

Motor Vehicle Registration:

If you are a new resident in Summit County you will need to obtain a new title and registration for your vehicle.

Motor Vehicle registration must be completed immediately upon establishment of residency.

Colorado residency is established when one of the following conditions is met:

You obtain employment in Colorado.
You reside in Colorado continuously for 90 days
If you are a new resident to Summit County from another County in Colorado, bring your current Colorado registration and Colorado driver’s license with your Summit County address.

The Department of Motor Vehicles in Summit County is located in the County Commons Building at 0037 County Road 1005 south of Frisco.

The offices are open on Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
