Department Mission Statement:
To strive to improve the quality of animal guardianship and responsibility through comprehensive public education and enforcement of animal related laws in our diverse community and it’s surrounding areas.

Animal Control Mission-
To provide the persons and property of Summit County assistance and protection from damage or harassment by domestic animals through enforcement of local regulations setting quality standards for guardianship, care and control of animals.

Animal Shelter Mission-
To provide impounded animals a secure and sheltered environment, offer unclaimed adoptable animals an opportunity for placement into new long term homes, and manage animals posing a health or safety risk to the community and it’s pets.
